Ralph Lauren Vintage adds CP-92 and Polo Surf Club

Ralph Lauren's rotating vintage page added two new collections from its archives this week: CP-92 (the 1992 Challenge Cup sailing collection — bold nautical colorways, competition windbreakers, regatta-era outerwear) and Polo Surf Club (1984 onward, Hawaiian camp shirts and sun-faded beach pieces from RL's earliest leisure era). CP-92 and Polo Surf Club are next in the rotation.

Secondhand implication: RL-92 windbreakers and Polo Surf camp shirts currently price like ordinary vintage RL on eBay — same range as any flannel, no premium. The editorial attention hasn't arrived yet. Collectors usually connect the dots within four to eight weeks.

Champion

Champion x MLB Cooperstown FW26: Reverse Weave returns to the ballpark

Champion and MLB confirmed a Fall/Winter 2026 Cooperstown Collection built on actual Reverse Weave fleece. Teams: Yankees, Dodgers, White Sox. The pieces — heavyweight crews, varsity jackets, overshirts — arrive with a specialized vintage washing process designed to simulate decades of wear. Price range: ~$100–150 new.

Secondhand implication: When a brand sells an artificial version of a thing at a premium, it shows the market what the real thing looks like. Vintage Champion Reverse Weave MLB originals from the 90s — actual worn-in, side-gusset, made-in-USA construction — still go for $60–90 on eBay. That price difference won't last.

Polo RL-92 / CP-92 Sailing Windbreaker

The CP-92 era produced competition-weight windbreakers in the kind of nautical colorways — cobalt, red, white — that RL now curates on their own vintage page. These price like ordinary RL outerwear right now. That won't hold.

Polo Surf Club Camp Shirt / Hawaiian — 1984–92

RL's Polo Surf Club line from 1984 onward produced Hawaiian camp shirts and sun-faded leisure pieces before that aesthetic had a name. RL is curating them now. Collectors haven't caught on yet — they're still priced like any other RL shirt.

90s Champion Reverse Weave MLB — Originals

Buy before the Cooperstown FW26 drop. Yankees, Dodgers, White Sox — the exact teams Champion just named. The real markers: side gusset, C-patch or bar-tack logo, made-in-USA tag, single-stitch seams. The reproduction can't fake those.

L.L. Bean Japan Edition Outerwear — Previous Seasons

The 2026 Japan Edition dropped and sold out immediately — the Roxbury Jacket and Prospect Harbor Field Coat went first, and both are now appearing on eBay. Older Japan Edition field coats (2024–25, previously Japan-only) are also surfacing as sellers clear inventory ahead of what's next.

60s–80s Eddie Bauer Made-in-England Wool Knit Sweaters

The wool knits EB produced in England during the 60s–80s predate the company's pivot to technical outdoor gear. Not the down parka headline, but the pieces that prove EB once dressed like a British country house. Increasingly hard to find as the brand's stores disappear.

70s Eddie Bauer Goose Down Parka — Early Label

The early goose-down parkas are the landmark pieces — EB essentially invented the category. The black-label and early-70s examples are the pieces with real history that collectors want. XS and S sizes are systematically underpriced because most buyers search larger; that's the affordable way in.

Polo Jeans Co. Utility and Camp Shirts

Polo Jeans Company is the next RL sub-label collectors haven't caught on to after Polo Country. Safari utility shirts, carpenter-detail denim, camp-collar pieces — all carry RL construction at prices that still read like thrift. The pattern is consistent: once RL features a sub-label on its own vintage page, resale prices increase.

Levi's

Levi's x Jordan Brand put the 90s denim trucker back in the conversation.

The January 2026 collab points buyers at vintage Levi's denim truckers — black denim especially. It's a slow build — no single event has moved the category yet.

Champion is about to make vintage Reverse Weave more expensive

Champion's FW26 Cooperstown Collection drops actual Reverse Weave fleece construction on Yankees, Dodgers, and White Sox team designs, then artificially distresses each piece to simulate the look of something worn for decades. New items will retail ~$100–150. The collection's explicit positioning — heritage, Cooperstown, vintage-wash — hands new buyers the vocabulary — and once they have it, they go looking for the real thing.

Mechanism: Premium new product that simulates vintage points the market at what authentic originals look and feel like — and why the real thing costs more than the reproduction. The demand that forms around the drop searches for originals, not replacements.

Timing: The FW26 collection hasn't dropped yet. Fall editorial coverage (back-to-school, NFL season preview, October heat) runs August–October. We're 6–8 weeks ahead of the demand — when people start searching for these. The pieces to hold are the ones the reproduction can't fake: side gusset, bar-tack seam detail, C-patch or bar tag logo, made-in-USA construction. Those markers are what authenticators look for, and new buyers will start looking for them too.

What to search: "champion reverse weave Yankees vintage" · "champion reverse weave Dodgers made USA" · "champion reverse weave White Sox 90s". Filter by decade: 1985–2000. Prioritize side-gusset construction and authentic team licensing (not bootleg). Budget: $60–120 for crews, $80–150 for hoodies. Shop →
